Resurfaced Details Show Angelina Jolie’s Daughter Shiloh Nearly Got This Iconic Role Alongside Her Mom

While Angelina Jolie’s daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt is all about her mom’s humanitarian work, she’s never exactly been the biggest fan of the acting world. In fact, at one point, she turned down a role alongside her mom in the hit Disney film Maleficent.

Rewind it back to 2014, when everyone was itching to see Jolie play the iconic Disney villain and learn everything about the instant hit. In an interview at the time for a now-archived Elle piece (via Desimartini), the Oscar-winning actress dropped the bombshell that Shiloh nearly played young Aurora!

She revealed: “I asked Shiloh about being Aurora, and she laughed in my face. She said she’d be a horned creature.”

While Shiloh turned down the adorable role, the part was then given to Jolie’s youngest daughter Vivienne. Most of the little girls that auditioned for the role ended up being terrified of Jolie in her Maleficient costume, except for little Vivienne!

As we said, Vivienne played the role of a baby Aurora (who was played by Elle Fanning). During her scene, she looked at Maleficent mesmerized, and tried to play with her, with Maleficent eventually sending her on her merry way.

Maleficent tells the story of Sleeping Beauty, but this is the alleged true story from the point of view of Maleficient. It became an instant favorite for many, earning an Oscar nomination and a well-received sequel to the franchise soon after.
