Mom or Dad? Arie Luyendyk Jr., Lauren Burnham Reveal Whom Baby Looks Like
A little bit of him, a little bit of her! Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham revealed which features their newborn daughter, Alessi, got from her parents.
“It’s amazing to see this tiny person that is half of each of us,” the couple said in a statement to Us Weekly on Thursday, May 30. “She has Dad’s hands and fingernails and [a] lot of Mom’s facial features. We are still at the hospital, but we are excited to bring her home soon!”
The Bachelor alums, who met during season 22 of the reality show, added: “We never knew we could experience a love like this. We cried, we laughed and we are so happy she is healthy and doing so well.”
Burnham, 27, gave birth on Wednesday, May 29. Luyendyk Jr. announced the arrival on his Instagram Story. “We have a healthy, BEAUTIFUL baby girl 6lbs, 13oz 20cm long,” the 37-year-old wrote. “Mommy and baby are doing great, we are so incredibly happy.”
The reality stars shared the first photos of Alessi — and revealed her unique name — on Thursday. “This was first time she laid eyes on me and I’m forever changed,” Luyendyk Jr. gushed on Instagram, adding: “I’m so proud of @laureneburnham. You’re truly incredible and did so good today.”
Burnham, for her part, called her baby girl “sweet” and “calm.” She also noted that she and the former race car driver “could not be more in love with her.”
The duo tied the knot in January, nearly one year after getting engaged on The Bachelor’s After the Final Rose special.
Us exclusively broke the news in November 2018 that the pair were expecting their first child together. Luyendyk Jr. predicted at the time that he would be “such a softie” with their newborn, while Burnham “is a little bit more of the disciplinarian.”
