Ronda Rousey Opens Up About ‘Trying to Start a Family’
Next stop: pregnancy! Ronda Rousey and her husband, Travis Browne, got married in 2017 and are now trying to conceive their first child.
“With me and my husband trying to start a family, we are very fortunate to be in a very secure position now,” the wrestler, 32, told Us Weekly exclusively at the LA Family Housing LAFH Awards & Fundraiser Celebration on Thursday, April 25. “But that is not something that is foolproof, you know, anybody can lose everything at any time. This is not something that’s like, you know, just the problem of a few.”
The athlete and the mixed martial artist, 36, revealed on April 15 that they were actively working on their baby-making.
“#impregnantionvacation,” Rousey captioned an Instagram Opens a New Window. photo of her and Browne kissing earlier this month.
In January, the ESPY Award winner told ESPN Opens a New Window. that she “would definitely want to start a family.” She went on to say, “But how do you go about doing that? I love this way more than I thought that I would. So do you just keep going until you just happen to get pregnant? Or should you stop and go try and get pregnant? Or is going and trying to get pregnant putting yourself on the spot and then you’re less likely to get pregnant?”
She added: “I’ve never had a baby before. I don’t know these kinds of things. It would be kind of cool to just keep acting and then one day, ‘Hey, surprise twist, I’m pregnant.’ That would be fun. There’s a lot of things up in the air. A lot of decisions that we’ve gotta make as a family. I’m trying to figure it out as I go along.”
The My Fight/Your Fight author and her husband tied the knot in August 2017 in Hawaii.
“What an amazing day!! She is so perfect in every way!” Browne captioned an Instagram pic holding hands with his wife at the time. “She makes me so happy! She is my other half! I Love You @rondarousey #browsey2017.”
