KKW Beauty Just Dropped Its Most Colorful Makeup Ever for Kim’s 38th Birthday

Kim Kardashian West's birthday is this weekend, and although you and I aren't invited to the party, she is giving fans an opportunity to celebrate with her in a very on-brand way. Literally. Taking a cue from little sister Kylie Jenner, who released a Kylie Cosmetics collection in honor of her 21st birthday, Kardashian West is launching new KKW Beauty makeup to mark her 38th birthday — and it's by far her most colorful launch ever.

"To celebrate @kimkardashian’s birthday this weekend we’re releasing a brand new collection featuring 7 Pressed Powder Pigments & 7 Loose Powder Pigments, all in bright & jewel-toned shades for the ultimate party vibe," reads the caption that accompanies an Instagram photo announcing the impending arrival of Flashing Lights — a name that's clearly a nod to husband Kanye West's 2007 song.

The image shows a sparkling, dusty red pressed powder in a compact surrounded by other smashed, shimmering shades. The caption indicates that the powders will go on sale at kkwbeauty.com at noon PT on Friday, October 19.

According to a press release from the brand, the pressed shades are called Flashy (bright pink), New Drip (royal blue), Bands (teal), Extra (bright purple), Freaky (scarlet), Glass (silver), and Big Bank (golden bronze) — and all have a metallic finish. The loose shades, not pictured in the initial Instagram post, are called Fire (fuchsia with a hot pink flip), High Key (blue-pink with a champagne gold flip), Guap (teal with a gold flip), Floss (pinky-purple with a pink flip), Rollie (hot pink with a yellow gold flip), Ice Glaze (blue with a pinky-red flip), and Grill (silver).

"The Flashing Lights Pressed Powder Pigments glide on effortlessly and provide a pearlized color finish. They
can be used wet or dry, with brushes or fingers, depending on the desired intensity," the press release says. "The Flashing Lights Loose Powder Pigments are the secret to a blinding glow. These powders are buildable and perfect for layering. They can be applied wet or dry with fingers or a brush to sweep over cheekbones, high points of the face and body for your desired glow. Wet and apply with a brush as a liner, mix it in with your favorite lip gloss or wear on top of the pressed powder for max impact."

Although these Flashing Lights powders are easily the most vivid shades in KKW Beauty's relatively short, mostly neutral-toned history, the brand has dabbled in the occasional bright color before. The KKW x Mario 10 Pan Eyeshadow Palette, for example, has a super-bright metallic blue called Libra; and the Pink Creme Lipstick collection includes a hot pink shade that seems to defy Kardashian West's penchant for nude lips.

Fans are clearly excited about the powders. "Thank God that's a pay dayyyyyy?," one Instagram commenter wrote, referring to the Friday launch date. "I love these shades ???," another said. Yet another has already decided, "Omg this is my fav thing you’ve done!"
