Joe Jonas Seeks Help Establishing ‘A Parenting Plan’ Amid Divorce From Sophie Turner
Even while their marriage is ending, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are focusing on their kids. The “Waffle House” singer filed for a dissolution of marriage on Tuesday, requesting help establishing “a parenting plan” for daughters Willa, 3, and “D.”, 14 months.
The filing, which said “the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken,” asked the judge to help with a plan to ensure their daughters get to see both mom and dad. “A parenting plan should be established, which addressed all parenting issues and contains a timesharing schedule providing for frequent and continuing contact with both parties,” stated the filing, per PEOPLE.
The divorce filing states that both parents can pay to support their children and should be required to, according to TMZ, with Jonas requesting a Florida court to help determine the best way to do that.
It also reveals that the girls “have been residing with their father in Miami and other locations throughout the United States” while he’s been on tour with brothers Nick Jonas and Kevin Jonas. This is similar to what an insider told TMZ earlier this week. They reported that the “Cake By The Ocean” singer has been watching their daughters “pretty much all of the time” over the last three months while the Game of Thrones alum has been filming in London.
An insider told PEOPLE on Tuesday that the two spent “the whole summer apart,” adding, “They were not separated but they’ve been living separate lives for months.” That would definitely put a strain on any marriage, even if you aren’t in the public eye.
“As far as custody goes, this literally all just happened, so they’re figuring it out in real time,” the source continued. “They did have a prenup. As a family, they were based in Florida. The kids were with him the last few months, traveling with him with family while he’s been on tour. Sophie’s been working in the UK.” Figuring out how to take care of your kids and spend time as a family would be so hard with both parents working in separate countries, so we really feel for these two!

Jonas and Turner broke their silence on the divorce with a joint state shared to Instagram with comments turned off.
“Statement from the two of us: ‘After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,” it reads. “There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”
