The most stunning celebrity nurseries

Whether or not you have had babies yourself, you know that a lot of thought goes into planning, designing, and building the nursery before the little one comes along. Even if you haven’t talked to the momma-to-be about it specifically, you can get a pretty good sense of the theme of the nursery just by browsing through her baby registry prior to the shower. Some of the more common themes we often see include zoo, jungle, library, farm, or other animal-specific elements.

Nurseries are always so adorable and special to the moms in the ‘nesting’ phase of their pregnancies, and while you may have seen some sweet nurseries friends and family have built for their babies over the years, these celebrity nurseries take it to a whole other level. If you find yourself expecting a bundle of joy, be prepared to get some inspiration for your little sweetheart’s new nursery after seeing some of the most stunning celebrity nurseries we could find!

Ali Fedotowsky's nursery is a dream of roses

It’s obvious that TV personality and Bachelorette alumna, Ali Fedotowsky, has a thing for roses when you see the sweet nursery she had made for her first baby girl, Molly. Fedotowsky worked with nursery designer Vanessa Antonelli to create this magical nursery fit for a princess. “Sometimes I’ll just go in her room and sit in the glider and soak up every inch of it,” she posted on her blog. “It feels magical to me!”

You can’t look at the nursery without noticing the flower wall made up of thousands of handmade flowers from The Flower Wall Company. While the flower wall is gorgeous, the rest of the walls are just as special. “We have this beautiful wallpaper by Graham and Brown that is slightly textured and has sparkles in it!” Fedotowsky added. “They are so subtle but so beautiful! When the light hits the room at a certain time of day, everything glimmers! It’s surreal.” Additional touches like the chandelier, rose gold mirror in the closet, and little bunny knobs on the dresser make this the perfect nursery for her sweet baby girl.

Angela Simmons chose a more modern design

Angela Simmons' son's nursery

Growing Up Hip Hop star and fashion designer, Angela Simmons, also worked with Vanessa Antonelli to design the nursery of a lifetime for her new baby boy, Sutton. “Angela and Sutton both love modern design and art,” Antonelli told Project Nursery in an interview. “As soon as I heard that, I knew that I needed to bring both into the space.” Antonelli found inspiration for the nursery after attending an event where there was an art installation done by a tape artist. Sure enough, they got a tape artist to come in and create a similar wall behind the crib which has become the focal point of the room.

Simmons told E! News her favorite piece in the room is the crib, which is the vetro crib by Nursery Works and it’s completely acrylic, including the platform for the mattress. “You can see through it! And you can see your child as soon as you walk in the room,” Simmons said as being why she loves the crib so much.

Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy took nesting very seriously

Dancing with the Stars dancers, Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, knew exactly what they wanted when it came time to designing their baby boy, Shai’s, nursery. “I was happy because starting with a direction is fantastic,” designer Antonelli shared on her website. “I was nervous because starting with a direction means you have to live up to the vision that someone already has in their mind and it’s my goal to always exceed the vision.”

Antonelli went on to explain that Murgatroyd wanted to use whites, ivory, and gold, and that Chmerkovskiy wanted to utilize his collection of small elephant figurines with the trunks up for good luck. “The safari wallpaper behind me satisfied Maksim’s desire to add elephants to the space,” she said, “but it also brought that fun playfulness to an otherwise mature space.”

Antonelli recognizes this space is very sophisticated so it may not be what everyone is looking for, but it met her client’s needs and desires. She also shared that this space is built directly off of the master bedroom so the wall we don’t see in any photos, doesn’t actually exist.

Mel B's nursery is anything but scary

Mel B's nursery

When it came to designing the nursery for the X-Factor Australia host and former Spice Girl known as Mel B aka “Scary Spice”, this space is far from anything someone would consider scary. In fact, according to her designers, Little Crown Interiors, Melanie Brown wanted to a create a space around one word: calm. “She wanted a world-class, celebrity-worthy haven of calming serenity,” they shared in a post on Project Nursery. We definitely feel like they got it spot on with this gorgeous room!

In one corner there is the elegant and cozy glider and ottoman made by Angel Song, who “also created an adorable child’s sofa so Mel’s older children can enjoy spending time in the nursery,” the designers added. With the draped ceiling treatments, the designers have named this cozy space “a perfect spot for snuggling.” Additional elements like hand-painted murals and crystal light fixtures pull together the finishing touches on this gorgeous room.

P. Diddy went for the hand painted mural for his twins

When it comes to celebrity nurseries, it should come as no surprise that budget is rarely, if ever, an issue. That was exactly the case for Sean Combs and his ex-girlfriend Kim Porter when designing the nursery for their twin baby girls, D’Lila and Jessie. The soon-to-be parents turned to interior designer Shalena Smith with their vision for an all white nursery. “As the selection and design process began we came up with the perfect solution!” Smith said. “All white playroom with pink glazed molding, a beautiful nursery with soft pinks, a romantic sky and an amazing garden fairy mural.”

“What I loved most was their fairy mural. I mean, it was just amazing, breathtaking,” Smith added. According to a special on E! featuring Smith called Blinging Up Baby!, a hand-painted custom mural can cost upwards of $17,000 with Combs and Porter’s nursery costing more than $70,000 total. It’s evident that money was not a major concern when it came to their twin girls.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon went for a neutral color palette

Smith had a new challenge on her hands when it came to designing the nursery for Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s twins, Moroccan and Monroe. “You know it’s kind of hard creating a nursery for a boy and a girl,” Smith said on Blinging Up Baby! To make their shared nursery work, Carey and Cannon opted for a more neutral color palette but with some stunning pieces to pull it together, including a custom jewel-filled chandelier Smith designed for the space.

One piece that you can’t miss in this room is the nine-foot tall giraffe in the corner that cost over $1,100. While many nurseries may have a table and chair set for the kids to play with as they grow older, the one in this nursery cost over $3,000. “I loved it because it’s just transitional,” Smith said. “Later on it goes into the playroom.” It is quite clear that while designing this stunning nursery, money was no object.

Tori Spelling used a wallpaper that gave her hope

Tori Spelling's nursery for son Finn

“Daddy is going to be so mad if it’s not a boy because I talked them into decorating a boy nursery,” Tori Spelling said in her documenTORI on YouTube, sharing the design of her new baby’s nursery. Spelling did have a baby boy and named him Finn. What she didn’t know at the time was how life-threatening the pregnancy would become, leading to bed rest at the hospital.

Spelling wanted cheer while in the hospital and was granted permission to decorate her room, so she had wallpaper put up. She used that same wallpaper in the baby’s nursery. “It got me through, it gave me hope,” Spelling said.

The inspiration for the design originally came from a vintage giraffe figurine she found at a flea market. As you look around the room, there are giraffe elements including vintage giraffe lamps and artwork. Spelling also made a few elements for her son’s nursery including a macramé mobile with hanging papier-mâché giraffes, as well as an old bookshelf she found at a yard sale that she and her older kids painted to match the room. “I love making things for a room,” she told People. “Makes it so personal.”

Tamera Mowry chose a pretty in pink look

Tamera Mowry's nursery for daughter Ariah

The theme of Tamera Mowry-Housley’s shower for baby Ariah was “pretty in pink” and it created the inspiration for the nursery designed by Shalena Smith. “As I look at the finished product, I can’t help but think that while yes, it is ‘pretty,’ what we really created for sweet little Ariah was a space that says ‘Power in Pink,'” Smith shared in a post on Mowry’s blog.

Two of the pieces to truly catch your eye in this gorgeous nursery are the angel wings on the wall and the crown hanging above the crib, both of which Smith found at Restoration Hardware Baby. “When I look at the crown above the crib, I don’t see the crown of a princess, but of a future queen of creation and love,” Smith shared. “When I look at the angel wings on the wall, I don’t just see that they are there because Ariah herself is a heavenly, little angel, but that they are a reminder that all the heavenly angels above will be watching over Ariah as she plays, sleeps, and grows.” Smith shared on her YouTube channel some great tips to recreate this beautiful nursery while sticking to a budget.

Ashley Hebert Rosenbaum wasn't planning on pink

Ashley Hebert Rosenbaum's nursery for daughter Essie

While most moms-to-be may immediately want shades of pink for their new baby’s nursery once finding our they’re having a girl, that was the opposite of what former Bachelorette Ashley Hebert Rosenbaum wanted. “My inspiration was initially N.Y.C. chic,” she told People. “I wanted to keep it black, white and gold. I vowed not to decorate in pink or purple!” As it would turn out, she started with a pink blanket and slowly kept adding additional pink touches to the room until it ended up becoming one of the main colors in baby Essie’s nursery.

There are a few very special touches in this nursery, including an elephant Rosenbaum’s son, Ford, painted before the baby was born. “It is kind of like a gift from him to her,” she shared with People. They also included a picture of Ford in the baby’s nursery as a way to show him that he was a part of bringing the new baby into the world.
