Go, Girl! Here’s Why Tamera Mowry Doesn’t Suffer From Mom Guilt

Setting a good example! Tamera Mowry is no stranger to mom guilt, thanks to her two children and a successful career, but she doesn’t let it affect her.

“That first year is always hard when you go to work and you’ve been a stay-at-home mom for a while, or on maternity leave, but now that my kids are older, I think it’s pretty badass and cool for them to see their mom do what she loves to do,” the Real cohost, 40, told Us Weekly exclusively at the NAACP Image Awards on Saturday, March 30. “So, now I’m teaching them to go for your dreams and do what you want to do.”

The Sister, Sister alum and her siblings learned the same lesson from their mom.

“She taught us to never give up, and all of us never give up and we never stop trying to pursue our dreams,” Tamera told Us. “As we got older, our dreams changed, but we never stopped pursuing them.”

When it comes to parenting, though, she uses a mix of her mother’s style and her own. “My mom is very old school,” the talk show host said. “My mom was very, very strict, so I think I’m a little more lenient. Whereas I let it slide, let it slide, and then I’m like, ‘No!’”

But as a working mom, the Twintuition author is looking forward to a chill Mother’s Day with Aden, 6, and Ariah, 3, whom she shares with her husband, Adam Housley.

“I just want time [with them],” she admitted. “I work a lot. I live in two different places. I travel a lot for my job. So, I just want to sit down, watch Moana and just chill.”
